Machinista is
a yearly unmediated open submission exhibition of creative and technological
innovations relating to the ideas of "artificial intelligence
in the arts" and "new human-machine interactions" developped
by the Russian Machinista team and curated online.
In 2003 there were 128 submissions featured on www.machinista.ru
In 2004 there were 259 submissions featured on www.machinista.org
Machinista Migrating Festival
An offline festival each year in a different host city showcases key
entries to the online exhibition. Selected participants are commissioned
to travel and present/ exhibit/ install/ perform to wider audiences.
in 2003 offline events took place in Moscow and Perm City (Urals).
in 2004 the offline events took place in Glasgow (UK). www.machinista.org.uk
We are
currently looking for host organisations to curate the 2005 and 2006
offline events.
The host organisation should be able to work independently, plan the
events and raise the nescessary funding, whilst retaining close connection
with the machinista core-team to help develop and co-ordinate each
new event's theme.
