description : Gesture Lesson is a single channel video work that explores the nature of our contemporary disembodied gestures through physical performance, digitally synthesized sound, and algorithmic imaging. The work investigates the advancement, hybridization, and disappearance of the human gesture, as it relates directly to our implementation and use of affordable emergent technologies.
biog:Regis Ferguson Collective is an inter-disciplinary performance group engaged in new media practices. The group members are always
evolving with the exception of the group's founding members, Michael Berkowski (composer/programmer) and Gregory Scranton (artist/vj), also included in "gesture lesson" are Elizabeth Wawrzonek and Hannah Kramer (performance). RFC focuses primarily on the disembodied subject through the use of technology as an extension of body or gesture. RFC has shown nationally and internationally, most recently at back-up festival in Weimar, Germany.
